John Tagg
In his role as National Research Manager at Northmarq, John Tagg is responsible for coordinating the production and distribution of research reports that support the company’s commercial real estate brokerage and investment sales teams across local offices nationwide. John acts as the primary content editor for research publications, manages broker research requests, and produces quarterly market and asset-specific reports.
In addition to his editorial and production responsibilities, John plays a key role in onboarding, training, and mentoring research analysts. He partners closely with the National Research Director to enhance operational efficiency, streamline research processes, and create strategic content that supports business development initiatives. John also contributes content for industry events, presentations, and media engagements.
Prior to joining Northmarq, John served as a senior research analyst at Newmark in Dallas, Texas for two years. There, he focused on advancing the company’s strategic growth in the Southeast region, with particular emphasis on office and industrial research in Dallas and South Florida. John delivered detailed market analysis through the production of multiple quarterly reports and contributed to national industrial thought leadership pieces.
Before Newmark, John spent over five years in the research department at CoStar Group in Richmond, Virginia. He served as a senior research associate for three years, including two years on the Institutional Sale Comparables team. During this time, he developed extensive knowledge of property transactions, market dynamics, and investment trends, laying a strong foundation for his continued success in commercial real estate research.
John earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science and international studies from the Virginia Military Institute in Lexington, Virginia.
