About Sean

Sean Timmis is an associate on Northmarq’s Multifamily Investment Sales team based in Chicago. He supports the Investment Sales team by assisting in all aspects of multifamily property brokerage, including underwriting, market research, client outreach, and transaction execution. Primary responsibilities include analyzing owner financial statements, preparing pricing and valuation materials, conducting rent and sales analyses, and maintaining the office database through Salesforce to ensure accurate ownership and transaction records. The role also involves sourcing new business opportunities, prospecting property owners and investors, and assisting in the preparation of offering materials and proposals.

Prior to joining Northmarq, Sean worked as a finance intern at Dana Corporation in Novi, Michigan, developing comprehensive financial models including discounted cash flow (DCF) analyses, to evaluate business segments for potential divestiture and assess acquisition opportunities. He collaborated closely with engineering teams to automate R&D expense tracking, improving visibility and cost control across departments. In addition, he maintained detailed financial records for plant operations, enhancing financial reporting accuracy, and served as a Salesforce administrator to streamline lead management processes. Sean also served as a business development associate at Paladin Drones in San Francisco, California, where he led outreach efforts to over 100 municipal and institutional clients — securing product demonstrations that converted to sales for more than 30% of identified leads.

Sean earned a Bachelor of Arts in economics with a minor in classical civilizations from the University of Michigan’s College of Literature, Science, and the Arts. He also completed an international academic term at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona in Spain. He has served as a member of the Michigan Cryptocurrency and Investment Club, co-founder and administrator of the Brother Rice Chess Club, and has held volunteer leadership positions with organizations like Christ Child and the Frozen Fish Fiasco.
