Lizann McGowan
Lizann McGowan is a managing director of Northmarq’s Multifamily Investment Sales team based in Philadelphia. She has over 25 years of experience in the commercial real estate industry and is a specialist in multifamily capital markets, which encompasses the disposition, acquisition and capitalization of multifamily real estate. To date, Lizann has been involved in transactions totaling more than $12 billion, including some of the largest, most complex and record setting in the Philadelphia region.
One of her most notable accomplishments includes the $233 million disposition of 1500 Locust, which at the time represented the largest single asset sale in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
Lizann began her career at Cushman & Wakefield, where she consistently ranked among the top ten producers in the Philadelphia region. In 2004, she and three of her colleagues were recruited to join the Investment Properties division of CBRE, Inc. to lead investment sales in the Philadelphia office. In 2014, Lizann transitioned to specializing in multifamily and was asked to lead the Multifamily Investment Sales Practice for CBRE in the Philadelphia region.
In 2018, Lizann was recruited as an executive managing director to start a multifamily investment sales practice in the Philadelphia region for Newmark, covering Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware. She has also served on the firm’s Multifamily Advisory Council.
Lizann is active with the Urban Land Institute (ULI), the National Multihousing Council (NMHC) and is a frequent guest speaker at industry events. While at CBRE, she received the coveted Gary Beban Teamwork Award. Additionally, she was recognized by the Philadelphia Business Journal with their prestigious “Women of Distinction” Award and was selected as a “Leader to Watch in Real Estate.”
A graduate of Villanova University, Lizann has actively given her time to her alma mater, serving a six-year term on the Board of Directors of the Villanova Alumni Association on the inaugural Advisory Board for The DiLella Real Estate Center at the Villanova School of Business, and as an Ambassador for the Augustinian Province. She currently serves on the Enrollment Advisory Committee at The Academy of Notre Dame de Namur, as well as the Planning Commission and the Comprehensive/Strategic Plan Steering Committee for Newtown Township, Delaware County.
