Matthew Berry

Matt Berry is a managing director with Northmarq’s Houston Office, with more than 16 years of experience in commercial real estate. He specializes in retail investment sales and capital markets solutions for institutional and private capital ownership, advising clients on the acquisition and disposition of retail investment properties across Texas.

Throughout his career, Matt has been involved in more than 500 retail investment sales transactions totaling over $4 billion in sales volume. His experience includes representing major institutional investors, corporations, developers and private owners across a wide range of retail assets. His extensive transaction experience and broad market knowledge allow him to provide clients with strategic guidance, comprehensive market intelligence and access to a deep pool of qualified investors.

Working alongside his team comprised of Robbie Kilcrease and Drew Reinking, Matt provides clients with integrated solutions throughout the investment cycle, from evaluating opportunities and positioning assets to executing sales and identifying financing strategies.

Matt began his career with HFF (now JLL) for more than 5 years and then join to CBRE where he served as Senior Vice President for 10 years where he led the real investment platform. 

Matt is a graduate of Stephen F. Austin with a Bachelor of Business Administration. He is an active member of ICSC, ranked in the top 5 of Houston Business Journal Heavy Hitter list in 2025, and has been involved with West University Little League and West University Softball Association for 15 years.
