MINNEAPOLIS – Northmarq is proud to announce that Billy Langer and Nathan Thompson have been named 2026 Rising Young Professionals by Finance & Commerce.

The annual recognition celebrates the next generation of leaders making a significant impact across Minnesota’s business community. Honorees are recognized for their professional achievements, leadership potential, commitment to their industries and contributions to their organizations and communities.

Billy Langer

Lead Investment Analyst

Since joining Northmarq in 2021, Billy Langer has distinguished himself as a rising leader on the Minneapolis Debt + Equity team.

In addition to supporting complex financial transactions, he has taken a leading role in analyst training, resource development and best-practice sharing across the platform, strengthening consistency, collaboration and professional development among teams nationwide.

Langer also regularly mentors junior analysts and interns, providing guidance on underwriting, financial analysis, market research and professional development. Beyond Northmarq, he mentors undergraduate students interested in commercial real estate by sharing industry insights, reviewing resumes and helping them develop their professional networks.

Nathan Thompson

Manager, Commercial Loan Servicing

Nathan Thompson joined Northmarq in 2020 as a commercial insurance analyst and has advanced into a leadership role within the firm’s insurance and servicing platform.

Today, he oversees Northmarq’s pre-closing insurance team and leads insurance compliance due diligence for serviced capital sources originated by Northmarq. He leads a team of six closing analysts and oversees a pipeline that frequently exceeds 100 active loan closings.

Thompson has also supported several volunteer initiatives benefiting local communities and individuals in need. His efforts have included food drives supporting Volunteers Enlisted to Assist People, events benefiting Feed My Starving Children and an officewide campaign supporting the Pinky Swear Foundation and families of children battling cancer.

These honorees exemplify Northmarq’s commitment to leadership, professional development and community impact. We congratulate Langer and Thompson on this well-deserved recognition and thank them for the impact they continue to make at Northmarq and in their communities.
