David Garfinkel named to the 2026 St. Louis Titan 100

ST. LOUIS (Feb. 17, 2026) — Northmarq is proud to announce that David Garfinkel, managing director of the St. Louis office, has been named to the 2026 St. Louis Titan 100, an honor recognizing the region’s most accomplished business leaders in their industries.
Garfinkel joined Northmarq in 1999 and has led the St. Louis office since 2008, helping establish the firm as the No. 1 commercial mortgage banking operation in the region. Over his 26‑year career, he has closed more than 400 loans totaling over $4.75 billion across multifamily, retail, industrial, office, hotel, self‑storage, mobile home park and student housing sectors.
Garfinkel is widely recognized for strengthening collaboration between Northmarq’s Debt + Equity and Investment Sales teams. His work includes several full‑cycle executions, such as a 226‑unit, $45 million multifamily development for which he sourced both equity and debt, connected the developer with Investment Sales for disposition and later arranged permanent financing for the buyer. He has replicated this model on larger projects, including a $90 million development requiring equity, debt and a bridge loan for tax credits.
A relationship‑driven leader, Garfinkel is known for mentoring emerging professionals, supporting clients at every stage and prioritizing personal connection. He has been the top producer in the St. Louis office for more than 25 years and is a frequent speaker at industry events, including the St. Louis Apartment Association, CCIM and Interface St. Louis Multifamily Conference. In 2019, he was inducted into the Midwest Real Estate News Hall of Fame.
Garfinkel is guided by the philosophy that “the extra mile is that one stretch of road that’s never crowded,” a mindset reflected in his reputation for integrity and dedication. Outside of his professional achievements, he takes pride in sharing completed projects with his family — pointing out properties he financed and recounting the stories behind them as they drive through St. Louis.
