Faron Thompson, senior vice president, focuses on debt and equity placement for multifamily properties, offering financing from a diverse group of capital sources including life insurance company correspondents, Wall Street conduits, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, HUD, debt funds, banks, credit unions and other prominent sources. Faron collaborates with Northmarq Investment Sales offices throughout the Southeast region, as well the company’s nationally recognized Servicing platform. Faron is known throughout the investment banking world for his strong drive, exceptional client service, superior earnings growth, collaboration and team leadership.

Prior to joining Northmarq, Faron served as Atlanta’s capital markets group lead at JLL, responsible for the integration with its other business lines. He was also an international director, bridging the gap between the Americas and JLL worldwide. As head of Multifamily Finance, Faron structured financial solutions for income property developers and investors. Faron was instrumental in the acquisition and integration of Oak Grove Capital, which brought expanded Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and HUD/GNMA capabilities to JLL’s platform.

Faron joined JLL from Primary Capital Advisors’ Income Property Capital Group, which he founded to specialize in Freddie Mac debt and equity capital. He served on Freddie Mac’s Affordable Housing Advisory Council as director of its Program-Plus Production Advisory Council from 2001 to 2003 and again from 2009 to 2010. He chaired the same group from 1996 to 1998.

Prior to forming Primary Capital Advisors in 1994, Faron was a vice president for HomeBanc, where he specialized in identifying and disposing of problem assets. In 1985, Faron launched his real estate finance career in multifamily construction lending and Freddie Mac multifamily lending with Meritor Mortgage Corporation, a subsidiary of Philadelphia Savings Fund Society.
