James Dorsett

James Dorsett joined Northmarq’s Multifamily Investment Sales team in July 2023, bringing over seven years of consulting and business development experience. A Raleigh native, he is primarily responsible for advising private and institutional clients on the acquisition and disposition of multifamily assets in the Raleigh-Durham MSA and across the Carolinas.

Prior to joining Northmarq, James spent six years at a Fortune 500 tech firm consulting with C-level executives on their human capital management strategies. During this time, he was consistently recognized as a top performer nationally and led a team of eight sales representatives covering North Carolina and South Carolina. James also has a year of experience in commercial insurance brokerage.

James lives in his hometown of Raleigh, North Carolina with his wife and two sons. He is actively involved at White Memorial Church, Rotary Club of the Capital City, and serves as co-chair of the Young Professional Board of Entryway.

James received his Bachelor of Science at the Martha & Spencer Love School of Business at Elon University.
