Brendan Barker

Brendan Barker is an associate producer on Northmarq’s Debt + Equity team in Cincinnati, where he sources and arranges financing for a wide range of commercial real estate projects. Most of Brendan’s work is focused on multifamily financing, but he will continue to work on deals across all asset classes. Brendan works closely with clients in Cincinnati and across the Midwest, structuring debt and equity to help them grow and maintain their portfolios. His role involves sourcing capital, underwriting deals, meeting with lenders and clients, and staying informed about market dynamics to ensure he delivers the best possible solutions.

Brendan interned at Northmarq for two years before joining the organization full-time. During his internship, he supported the Cincinnati team on over $500 million in loan volume. He was trained as an investment analyst, reviewed operating statements, rent rolls, and leases, and eventually started underwriting and packaging deals independently.

Brendan also spent time early in his college career working for a small startup company in the SAAS sector. In that role, he focused on sales and client development — working with small business owners in Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky to help them create systems to maintain their clients and drive new business. 

Brendan is actively involved in the real estate community. While at the University of Cincinnati, he served as the professional development chair for the Real Estate Association. Now, he continues to attend industry events through groups including NAIOP, ULI, and the University of Cincinnati Real Estate Center — connecting with others in the industry and learning from different perspectives.

Brendan graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in finance and real estate. He earned several scholarships, including the Cincinnatus, NAIOP, and Northmarq scholarships.
