Angela Martin
Angela Martin is an associate in Northmarq's Minneapolis office and a member of the firm's National Healthcare Group. She advises physicians and owner-operators on the acquisition, disposition, leasing and financing of healthcare real estate with a focus on Minnesota and the Twin Cities.
Her practice centers on physician owners, medical groups, ambulatory surgery centers, and other healthcare operators considering property sales, sale-leasebacks, succession planning, acquisitions, or new development. As the first dedicated healthcare commercial real estate specialist Northmarq has placed in Minnesota, Angela brings a differentiated perspective to her work, drawing on more than 25 years of leadership experience across consumer brand management, manufacturing operations, healthcare systems and medical device companies.
Angela's foundational background in industrial engineering, consumer brand management, and medical device marketing informs how she advises healthcare owners. She brings an operational rigor and continuous-improvement perspective to medical real estate as a tool for strategy, growth, and leverage, and applies a retail and brand lens to physical locations as patient acquisition assets in an increasingly consumer-driven healthcare landscape.
Prior to joining Northmarq, Angela spent several years in senior strategy and marketing roles across the medical device sector. From 2020 to 2021, she held progressive leadership roles at Cantel Medical — subsequently acquired by Steris — in Plymouth, Minnesota, where she led a board-priority ambulatory surgery center turnaround initiative aligned with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services-driven shift of procedure volume from hospitals to ambulatory care.
Angela spent six years at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, from 2014 to 2020, in progressively senior leadership roles. She served as senior director of advanced product market development from 2014 to 2018 and as vice president of marketing for Mayo Clinic Laboratories from 2018 to 2020.
Earlier in her career, Angela held senior brand and marketing roles in consumer packaged goods at PepsiCo, Sara Lee, and Kimberly-Clark. She began her career as a continuous improvement engineer at Harley-Davidson in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
In parallel with her corporate career, Angela has personally deployed more than $20 million of principal capital across real estate acquisitions and dispositions in Minnesota and California over the past 13 years, with firsthand experience in underwriting and direct-to-buyer negotiations.
Angela volunteers her marketing expertise with Freedom House, a homeless shelter serving families in crisis. She is also an active member of the Chicago Booth Women's Network.
Angela holds an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a bachelor's degree in industrial and manufacturing engineering from Marquette University.
