GlobeSt. recognizes Managing Director Zalmi Klyne as 2026 Aspiring Leader

LOS ANGELES (June 3, 2026) — Northmarq Managing Director Zalmi Klyne has been named a GlobeSt. CRE Aspiring Leader of 2026, an honor recognizing top commercial real estate professionals under 40 who are making significant impacts on the industry.
Based in Los Angeles, Klyne leads a debt and equity team serving family offices, high-net-worth individuals, syndicators and private investors. Since joining Northmarq in 2020, he has closed more than $2.5 billion across 300+ transactions. In his first year, Klyne earned Northmarq’s Newcomer of the Year award and was promoted to managing director in March 2022.
“Zalmi is a trusted pillar of the Los Angeles real estate community,” said Karl Weidell, vice president of Debt + Equity in Northmarq’s Los Angeles office. “He’s the first call people make when they need help on a transaction.”
In 2025, Klyne led a team of six originators that closed $984 million in total transaction volume, continuing to deliver results during a period of interest-rate volatility. His recent work includes closing more than $200 million in affordable housing transactions supported by welfare tax exemptions, helping preserve critical housing stock.
Klyne began his career in origination at Continental Partners before joining Northmarq. His experience spans multiple domestic and international markets, including Florida, New York and Melbourne, Australia. He was also named a Los Angeles Times 2024 Commercial Real Estate Visionary.
Outside of work, Klyne serves in leadership and advisory roles with Jewish religious organizations, including as president of Chabad’s Granada Hills board of directors. He holds Rabbinic Ordination from the Rabbinical College of Jerusalem and is fluent in Hebrew.
