Robert Poirier

Robert Poirier is an associate vice president in Northmarq’s Atlanta office, specializing in middle-market corporate sale-leasebacks, single-tenant net lease (STNL) investments, and commercial real estate advisory nationwide. While his primary focus centers on industrial properties - including manufacturing and distribution facilities as well as low-coverage Industrial Outdoor Storage (IOS) sites - Robert also frequently advises corporate clients on office and retail assets.

Leveraging a deep corporate finance, operational, and capital markets perspective, Robert advises private equity sponsors, portfolio company leadership, corporate restructuring advisors, and middle-market business owners on optimizing balance sheets, lowering cost of capital, and monetizing real estate assets.

Robert’s corporate advisory practice offers comprehensive execution across:

• Single-tenant net lease (STNL) investments: Maximizing asset value across industrial, office, and retail properties, including specialized manufacturing facilities, corporate headquarters, and distribution hubs.
• Pre-acquisition M&A real estate underwriting: Partnering with private equity deal teams, corporate acquirers, and buy-side M&A advisors to evaluate real estate portfolios and structure firm sale-leaseback capital during corporate acquisitions.
• Short-term transition sale-leasebacks (1–5 Years): Structuring flexible capital solutions for corporate operators undergoing consolidations, footprint adjustments, or operational phase-outs without locking them into long-term lease liabilities.
• Surplus & vacant facility dispositions: Unlocking illiquid equity and eliminating holding costs for non-operational, dark, or winding-down corporate real estate assets nationwide.

Prior to joining Northmarq, Robert served as an associate director at Stan Johnson Company (SJC). His extensive commercial real estate leadership includes serving as senior vice president of Transwestern’s tenant advisory and corporate real estate group, and managing director of GVA Advantis' Atlanta office. Early in his career, Robert also co-founded an innovative CRE technology platform designed to streamline tenant-directed leasing.

Robert holds a Bachelor of Science in business administration with a dual concentration in real estate and finance from the University of Southern Mississippi. He is an active member of the USM Alumni Association and holds a Georgia real estate broker license.
