Annamarie Bjorklund joins Northmarq’s Institutional Equity Advisory Group as senior vice president

DALLAS (Jan. 16, 2024) — Northmarq has announced the addition of Annamarie Bjorklund (“AB”) as senior vice president based in Chicago. In her new role, Bjorklund will join Northmarq’s Institutional Equity Advisory Group team along with Charlie Rimkus, senior vice president – Debt & Equity, and Joel Heikenfeld, managing director – Debt & Equity. 

Bjorklund is responsible for structuring equity investments, including co-GP, limited partner, preferred and programmatic ventures for operators and developers. She will bolster equity relationships ranging from single-family offices to large global institutional investors.

Prior to joining Northmarq, Bjorklund served as associate director of acquisitions at Marquette Companies, where she led the firm’s acquisitions and fundraising efforts for multifamily investments in the sunbelt region. She also completed all underwriting, analysis and closing for Marquette's development vertical in Chicago, Nashville and Houston. Before Marquette, Bjorklund spent four years at Origin Investments, a Chicago-based private equity fund, where she evaluated acquisitions, development, opportunity zone and debt opportunities.

Bjorklund is the vice president of membership for Real Estate Finance Forum, Chicago's leading organization for women in commercial real estate.  She attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where she attained degrees in Spanish and real estate and urban land economics.
