Northmarq invests in the next generation of CRE leaders by awarding intern scholarships

Northmarq is proud to announce the awarding of $11,000 in scholarships to 11 summer interns through its 2025 intern scholarship program.  

The program recognizes interns who have demonstrated exceptional academic achievement, leadership, community engagement, and personal resilience. 

“Our interns consistently bring fresh perspectives, strong work ethic, and a genuine passion for learning,” Northmarq Chief Administrative Officer Jay Johnson said. “This scholarship program is one way we celebrate their impact and support their continued academic and professional growth.” 

The scholarship program is part of Northmarq’s broader commitment to investing in the next generation of commercial real estate professionals. Interns selected for the award represent a diverse range of backgrounds and experiences, and each has made meaningful contributions to their teams and communities during their time with the company. 

Each scholarship recipient received $1,000 to help offset educational expenses such as tuition, books, and fees.  

Applicants are evaluated through a competitive process that includes academic transcripts, leadership experience, community engagement, and personal aspirations. The application includes short-answer questions, a transcript, resume, and two letters of recommendation.  

The scholarship initiative further reinforces the company’s dedication to fostering talent and building a more inclusive industry. 

Northmarq’s internship program offers students hands-on experience, mentorship, and exposure to the dynamic world of commercial real estate.  

“What truly made my internship at Northmarq memorable this summer was the incredible team — the support and collaboration created a positive and engaging atmosphere every day,” said Debt + Equity Intern Lauren Wallace, one of the 11 scholarship recipients. “This internship experience helped me develop both professionally and personally within an inspiring environment. 

“Receiving this scholarship is icing on the cake of what was a wonderful internship experience. I am so grateful to Northmarq for its continued support, and I’ll be keeping an eye open for future opportunities with the company and be sure to let everyone know what a great place it is to work.”
