Anthony Cohen — California
Based in Los Angeles, Anthony Cohen is a senior vice president of Commercial Investment Sales, advising clients on industrial, retail and healthcare transactions across the U.S. Since joining the firm, he has participated in deals totaling more than $500 million.
Anthony’s journey is one of personal and professional resilience. After relocating cross-country to support his family, he launched his West Coast real estate career just as the pandemic disrupted markets. He quickly earned a reputation for his strategic mindset, strong client service and deep industry network.
His collaborative approach and leadership are evident in his decision to bring his entire team to Northmarq — underscoring his commitment to shared success and long-term partnerships.
James Currell — Texas
From an analyst role in Dallas to his current position as senior vice president, James has quickly risen through the ranks after exhibiting strong performance and an ability to manage high transaction volumes. He delivers tailored capital solutions for complex real estate projects, structuring debt and equity across the capital stack for a diverse range of clients.
James’ notable achievements include a $148.5 million construction completion and lease-up refinance for a high-rise in downtown San Diego and a rapid-close, distressed note acquisition enabled by his strong capital relationships.
He is also a champion of talent development, serving as a mentor and contributor to hiring and culture in the Dallas office. His story reflects a bold career pivot and an unwavering focus on execution, creativity and client success.
Alex Malzone — Chicago & Midwest
In just five years, Alex has become a driving force in the growth of Northmarq’s Multifamily Investment Sales platform across the Midwest. He helped lead the firm’s expansion into investment sales — while navigating a rapidly shifting capital markets landscape.
From launching in early 2021 to closing over $2 billion in transaction volume, Alex’s rise is marked by discipline, adaptability and strategic vision. He specializes in originating, marketing and executing multifamily sales in secondary and tertiary markets and is known for forging lasting relationships with institutional clients.
His persistence is best illustrated by a 1,288-unit, $178 million portfolio sale in Madison, Wisconsin — a win that came after years of relationship-building and deep market insight.
