Shane Shafer

Shane Shafer is senior vice president/managing director in Northmarq Multifamily’s greater Los Angeles offices. He is one of the top multifamily investment sales brokers in Southern California, with more than 20 years of experience and $3 billion in sales to date. 

Previously, Shane worked for Berkadia as partner/managing director, where he was consistently one of the firm’s top brokers. During his years at Berkadia, Shane received the following accolades: #1 Broker in the Irvine Office (2015, 2016 & 2017); Recognized as one of the “Hot Brokers” by Southern California Real Estate Magazine and was consistently in the top 5% of Berkadia agents nationwide. 

Prior to Berkadia, Shane worked at Sperry Van Ness years in the position of senior vice president. There, he was awarded the Sperry Van Ness Achievers Award in 2003 and was a member of the Sperry Van Ness Partner Circle (2004, 2005, 2006 & 2007). Shane started at Marcus Millichap, where he earned the Rookie of the Year award in 1998. 

Shane graduated with a B.S. in political science from Arizona State University. Aside from speaking at conferences and participating in industry events, Shane is passionate about giving back to the communities in which he’s worked, and has contributed time and finances to many charitable organizations throughout Southern California.

Shane is a board member of the National Multi Housing Council, a member of the Orange County Apartment Association and the Santa Ana Chamber of Commerce and was featured in the California Real Estate Journal and Multifamily Executive National Business.
