About

Gary Hough is senior director of Northmarq’s Houston office where he is responsible for structuring debt and equity capital for all types of commercial real estate transactions. His career includes a diverse and broad background in commercial real estate. Gary began his career in investment sales and later transitioned into the development of multifamily in major markets throughout the south. The majority of Gary’s career has been in debt and equity sourcing as he realized early on that capital was the fuel for all transactions in all cycles.

In early 2020, Northmarq acquired Q10 Kinghorn, Driver, Hough & Co. (KDH) where Gary was a principal and owner. In 1994, Gary joined Kinghorn, Driver (founded in 1945) as a principal and helped grow the mortgage banking company from a $75 million loan servicing portfolio to $2 billion. In addition to day-to-day managerial duties and investor relations, he was responsible for debt and equity placement.

Gary received a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of St. Thomas. He is a member of the Mortgage Bankers Association, the National Multifamily Housing Council and is on the advisory board of the Urban Land Institute. Gary is a frequent panelist, speaker and moderator related to mortgage banking and commercial real estate topics. Additionally, he enjoys serving as a visiting executive professor of real estate finance at Texas A&M University, Mays Business School and sitting on the advisory board of the Masters of Real Estate program.
