Chris McCook is a vice president in Northmarq's Phoenix regional office where he joined in 2021. He assists in the origination of debt and equity for owners of multifamily real estate. Chris has considerable experience in the appraisal and valuation of multifamily properties, having appraised over a thousand properties throughout his career, hundreds of which were HUD-approved appraisals and market studies that were prepared in order to secure HUD-insured financing. His experience with these HUD programs and multifamily valuation is a crucial asset to Northmarq’s HUD team.

Chris has previously dedicated his career to the appraisal of commercial property types since 2009, with an ongoing specialty in multifamily valuation. He most recently served as a first vice president in Newmark Knight Frank’s Valuation & Advisory practice since 2017, where he specialized in HUD mortgage insurance programs, along with other agencies, including Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. Prior to joining Newmark, Chris worked as a senior valuation specialist with Colliers International Valuation & Advisory Services. Prior to these endeavors, Chris began his career appraising commercial real estate with Davis Valuation Group in 2009. 

Chris is a non-practicing MAI with the Appraisal Institute. He also holds a Certified General Appraisal license in the states of Arizona and Nevada, along with an Arizona Real Estate license.

Chris earned dual-major Bachelor of Science degrees in finance and accountancy from Arizona State University. He also holds an MBA with real estate specialization from Florida State University.
