Northmarq’s Nashville office welcomes land specialist Cleveland Bain as vice president

NASHVILLE (April 25, 2023) — Northmarq’s Nashville office has announced the addition of Cleveland Bain, vice president. Bain brings more than a decade of experience working with a range of clients from individual property owners to multinational development companies. In his new role, Bain is representing both sellers and buyers focusing on the identification, acquisition, sale and lease of land and development sites.

“I'm excited for my new role as land broker with Northmarq Nashville,” said Bain. “The interest and demand for land and development opportunities in the Nashville market remains robust. Northmarq’s client-centric service, coupled with their proven track record in procuring debt and equity solutions to developers, is a powerful combination for clients in today’s market.”

Prior to joining Northmarq, Bain has been involved in brokering over $83 million of land deals across various asset classes. He has also worked as an attorney in Nashville, Tenn., where he represented property owners, developers, business owners and contractors within real estate, construction, and land use and zoning for nearly a decade. Bain’s combination of brokerage and legal knowledge, along with his land use and zoning experience, provides his clients with unique insight and strategies to accomplish their goals. Additionally, Bain served as a licensed general contractor and owner of a residential and commercial construction company for seven years in Nashville.

“We wanted to add a land specialist since opening the Nashville office last June, yet I didn’t expect to identify a candidate with Cleveland’s diverse experience," said Bryan Schellinger, managing director of Northmarq’s Nashville investment sales office. "He’s the ideal addition to our multifamily team, and we’re eager to get him fully integrated into our platform as we continue to expand our coverage and capabilities across Tennessee.”

Bain holds a bachelor’s degree from University of Tennessee at Knoxville and a juris doctorate from the Nashville School of Law. He is a licensed real estate broker and attorney in the state of Tennessee, in addition to holding a Tennessee contractor’s license.
