NorthMarq Capital welcomes new FHA production manager

DALLAS (June 17, 2015) – NorthMarq Capital announced the arrival of David Schmidt as FHA production manager. Schmidt is based in NorthMarq Capital Finance’s (formerly AmeriSphere) Dallas office where he will be responsible for coordinating the origination and processing of FHA transactions for producers in NorthMarq’s 36 offices nationwide. Schmidt has been involved in the commercial mortgage industry for 28 years and has participated in more than $2.5 billion in transaction volume for FHA, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, life companies, commercial banks and conduits over the course of his career. For more than 18 years, he has focused his attention on multifamily housing, including: traditional multifamily, senior housing, student housing and targeted affordable transactions. “David’s FHA product expertise and sales experience are a strong combination that will bolster our production efforts in this specialized program,” said Jay Donaldson, president of NorthMarq Capital Finance. Prior to joining NorthMarq, Schmidt was a senior vice president in the multifamily family finance group at Walker & Dunlop for two years. From 2009-2013 he was senior vice president with KeyBank Mortgage Capital where he was the FHA program manager and subsequently, manager of the multifamily permanent loan origination team for the Midwest. Before his work at KeyBank he held the following roles: director for Red Mortgage Capital from 2003-2009, a principal for Lend Lease Mortgage Capital from 1996-2003 and an originator for Carey Kramer Company. Schmidt has been an active participant on the lender advisory council for FHA and Freddie Mac for many years.
