About
John serves as vice president of defeasance services at NorthMarq. His current responsibilities include defeasance consulting, assisting with market research vendor relationships, reviewing appraisals, engineering reports, and environmental reports, and coordinating loan closings. He joined the company in January 2017 in the role of investment analyst on the Capital Services team.
Before arriving at NorthMarq, John serviced as director/vice president at Trimont Real Estate Advisors from 2003 – 2016. At Trimont, his responsibilities included: coordinated periodic reunderwriting of CRE loans for a large insurance company client, developed and managed Trimont’s defeasance program, managed all market research vendor subscriptions, provided surveillance and monthly reporting on CMBS loans for a hedge fund client, and more.
Before working at Trimont, John spent nine years working for Equitable Real Estate/Lend Lease Real Estate Investments in Atlanta, Georgia. During his tenure at the company, he worked in a variety of positions, including senior accountant/manager of investor reporting, analyst/vice president of investment research, vice president of marketing, vice president of the company’s debt advisory group, treasurer and Chief Financial Officer of Lend Lease Capital Markets.
John graduated from Georgia State University with a Masters of Business Administration in Real Estate. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Accounting at Pennsylvania State University. His professional certifications include:
