Chris Whelan

Based in Northmarq’s Newport Beach office, Chris Whelan is an Associate Broker on Brett Butler’s team. Whelan brings to the team over 5 years of experience in the commercial real estate industry. Beginning as an investment analyst, Whelan has underwritten the acquisition and disposition of single- and multi-tenant retail, office, medical, and industrial assets. Whelan also serves clients beyond sales by aiding in lease negotiations and site redevelopment. In April 2023, Whelan was promoted to an associate broker where he specializes on the disposition of net leased retail and industrial assets.

As an Investment Analyst, Whelan contributed to over 125 successful transactions totaling over $600 million in sales volume. Prior to joining Northmarq, Whelan served as a Senior Investment Analyst at Stan Johnson Company, where he began his career in 2018.
