NorthMarq Capital announces 2017 Servicing Awards

MINNEAPOLIS (January 11, 2018) -- NorthMarq Capital, a commercial real estate leader in debt, equity and servicing, announced its annual Servicing Awards today. Nicole Malaske, assistant vice president - Commercial Insurance, was selected as the recipient of the Karen Pribnow Award for Outstanding Servicing Leadership. This award, named in honor of NorthMarq’s former servicing director, is given annually to a Servicing leader who exhibits the key company character traits of honor, competence, commitment, and customer service focus and promotes, mentors, and coaches these traits in others. According to Bert Libke, senior vice president/managing director – Servicing, Nicole was nominated by several of her peers, with a few consistent themes in her praise. “She has become a great liaison for our company within the industry along with implementation of several new ideas for innovation and employee development within the Servicing team,” he said. Nicole is a member of the Mortgage Bankers Association Insurance Roundtable and recently joined the 2018 Servicing and Technology Conference planning committee. Within NorthMarq Capital, she is a co-advisor for the Servicing Council, where she mentors employees on their leadership development plans. Nicole joined NorthMarq Capital in 2007 as a commercial insurance specialist and has been promoted three times, now leading a six-person Insurance team with oversight of Agency and Life portfolios. Prior to joining NorthMarq, Nicole worked in residential mortgage origination in varying roles. Nicole is a graduate of the University of St. Thomas. NorthMarq also recognized Trang Dinh, asset manager, with the 2017 Excellence in Servicing Award, which is given to a member of the Servicing team who demonstrates high levels of customer service, teamwork and collaboration, self-development and results-driven achievement. In her fifteen years as a portfolio analyst and asset manager, she has developed into a highly respected, knowledgeable and accomplished Servicing professional. Dinh, who has been with NorthMarq since 2007, is a graduate of Normandale Community College and Augsburg College. “Due to her experience with a large group of life insurance companies, she is often able to identify effective courses of action for loan events, billing questions or whatever unusual challenges that occur within our team’s portfolio. Lenders and our production professionals consider her a valuable resource to effectively manage their portfolios, especially her opinion on various pre-and-post loan-closing details,” said Libke. NorthMarq Capital’s 100+-member Servicing team operates out of the company’s Minneapolis headquarters and an office in New Jersey. In the company’s annual borrower and lender surveys, the team receives high praise and satisfaction scores from each group. They produce a biannual newsletter to share best practices, trends and profiles of subject-matter experts in the department. The company achieved a milestone in 2017, when it topped $51 billion in the Servicing portfolio.
