Eduardo "Ed" leads NorthMarq as Chief Executive Officer, a role he has held since 2000. In 2012, he also became CEO of NorthMarq Companies, the Pohlad Companies' commercial real estate services holding company. Under his leadership, the company has grown through 15 acquisitions to $14 billion in annual production with more than 500 employees in 40 locations.

Previously, he served as NorthMarq's executive vice president and regional managing director with oversight of half of the company's regional offices. He joined NorthMarq in 1991 as a producer and managing director of the Minneapolis regional office.

Ed has a strong commitment to the community, serving as chair of CommonBond Communities Board after ten years on the CommonBond Board of Directors.  CommonBond Communities is the Midwest's largest nonprofit provider of affordable housing with services and has developed, owns or manages 5,000 affordable rental apartments and townhomes throughout 50 cities in Minnesota, Wisconsin and Iowa.

He is a former board member of CornerHouse, an interagency child abuse evaluation and training center in Minneapolis. In addition, Ed has served on the board of the Neighborhood Development Center in St. Paul, which works in low-income neighborhoods to support resident-owned small businesses.

Ed obtained his B.A. in 1979 from the University of Minnesota and his J.D. in 1982 from the William Mitchell College of Law.

Jeffrey Weidell became CEO of NorthMarq in 2020, after serving as president since 2013. As president, he was responsible for a number of the company’s initiatives, including an industry-leading associate producer program, the launch of the investment sales business, growth in debt production, and expansion of the equity advisory business.

He was promoted to president in 2013, after serving as managing director of the San Francisco office since he joined NorthMarq in 2000. He served on the company’s Executive Committee and was one of its most successful mortgage bankers, where his track record included arranging debt and equity financing through life companies, pension funds, agency debt and a host of other bank and CMBS sources.  Deal sizes were typically $20 - $200M and covered a variety of property types and deal structures.

Prior to joining NorthMarq, Jeff was an accomplished producer with Trowbridge, Kieselhorst & Company & Co., which was acquired by NorthMarq in 2000.

Jeffrey is an active member of the MBA, the NAIOP and NMHC, and is a certified mortgage banker (CMB). He currently serves on the MBA’s COMBOG and the Silicon Valley NAIOP Board. He is a past president of the Bay Area Mortgage Association. Jeff holds a BA in Economics from Columbia University and an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.

William joined NorthMarq in 2009 and became president in 2013, providing oversight of the company’s production offices and strategic direction for the firm. He has been in the mortgage banking business since 1976 when he began his career at Bright Mortgage Company. In 1989, he was a founding principal of Keystone Mortgage, which in 2001 was sold to Capmark Finance (formerly GMAC Commercial Mortgage). As executive vice president at Capmark Finance, he managed the company’s nationwide mortgage banking network.

William is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin and has a Master of Business Administration degree in finance and real estate from Southern Methodist University. He is a licensed real estate broker in Texas and previously served the executive council of the real estate finance and investment center at the University of Texas. He has also served on numerous life company correspondent advisory councils including Aegon USA Realty Advisors, Allstate Insurance Company and Nationwide Life Insurance Company.

William has served on the MBA’s COMBOG Board and was honored by the MBA in 2017 with the Commercial Real Estate Finance (CREF) Distinguished Service Award.

Jay Donaldson is president of NorthMarq’s Fannie Mae and FHA product lines, overseeing more than 50 employees and more than $2 billion in annual transactions. In this role, he focuses on the expansion of the company's multifamily lending through growth of Fannie Mae and FHA production volumes and portfolios. Jay also serves on the NorthMarq Executive Committee.

Prior to joining NorthMarq, he was COO for AmeriSphere Multifamily Finance, which was acquired by NorthMarq in 2015. Over Jay’s 20-year career in lending, he has worked with a variety of product types including agency products, CMBS, bridge, mezzanine, and preferred equity on all types of commercial real estate.  He has experience in every discipline of lending from origination to credit to capital markets.

Jay is actively involved in the commercial real estate industry and has served as the chairman of the Multifamily Committee for the Commercial Real Estate/Multifamily Finance Board of Governors (COMBOG) of the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA). He also serves on the MORPAC Steering Committee and previously served as Vice-Chair of MORPAC.

Outside of his work obligations, Jay owns Lucky Buck Productions, a production company and recording label supporting a variety of emerging artists.

Jay holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a concentration in Finance from Texas Tech University.  He is married with two children and lives in Washington, D.C.

Trevor leads NorthMarq’s Investment Sales business, which launched in April 2018, and brings more than 20 years of experience in capital markets advising clients on investment sales opportunities in markets across the U.S. He is responsible for the day-to-day operations and continued expansion of the multi-billion dollar investment sales platform, which in its first year of business added 15 brokers in seven states and grew to hundreds of active listings.

His experience as an investment advisor, multifamily broker, and CRE expert brings deep insights to his leadership of NorthMarq’s Investment Sales business. He collaborates with NorthMarq’s debt and equity producers across the U.S. to integrate financing options with multifamily acquisitions, offering integrated capital solutions to clients. Trevor’s thorough understanding of acquisitions, dispositions, banking, and capital markets gives him a strong foundation on which to build the company’s investment sales business.

Before joining NorthMarq, he operated the No. 1 multifamily investment sales team within Colliers International based in Phoenix and transacting throughout the greater Southwest. He was also recognized as the top producer in Phoenix and a top producer in all product types internationally. With his in-depth experience in the negotiation and successful completion of complex real estate transactions, he provided private client groups, equity partners and REITs with a thorough economic analysis to guide them towards informed real estate decisions.

Trevor is a graduate of Arizona State University, a full member of the Urban Land Institute and the National Multifamily Housing Council, and is a licensed pilot.

Jeff was promoted to executive vice president/regional managing director in 2017 after serving five years as managing director of the Dallas office. As EVP, he is responsible for oversight of NorthMarq’s regional offices and leads the company as a member of the Executive Committee and Producer’s Council, and as co-chair of the Equity Advisors Group. He continues to manage the Dallas office, while executing on debt and equity transactions for the firm's clients.

Jeff represents NorthMarq on the Fannie Mae Originator Committee and is a previous member of Freddie Mac’s Seller Servicer Advisory Board. He is past chair of the Mortgage Bankers Association’s Originations Council and an active member within National Multifamily Housing Council and the Folsom Institute for Real Estate at Southern Methodist University, of which he is a graduate.  

Based in Dallas, Jeff joined NorthMarq in 2002.

Patrick joined NorthMarq as a producer in 1992 and was promoted to Managing Director of the Minneapolis office in 1997. In 2017, he was promoted to Executive Vice President/Regional Managing Director overseeing ten of NorthMarq's local offices. He also co-leads the Production Committee and the Equity Advisors Group, and serves on the company's Executive Committee, where he is involved in leadership of the company's growth in its three business lines: Debt and Equity, Investments Sales, and Loan Servicing.

He is a proven producer who is experienced in all areas of debt and equity finance, specializing in structured debt, joint-venture equity and traditional debt, transacting in multiple markets over his more than 25 years of production. 

Patrick is a member of the Minnesota MultiHousing Association, Minnesota Shopping Center Association, Urban Land Institute and the Mortgage Bankers Association. He was treasurer of the Minnesota NAIOP chapter for two years and served on the NAIOP-MN Board for three years. Prior to joining NMC in 1992, Minea was employed with GMAC Mortgage. He obtained his undergraduate degree from Saint John’s University.

Since early 2019, Travis has been responsible for oversight of information technology, loan servicing, and corporate finance and accounting as Chief Administrative Officer. He is also responsible for evaluating and executing NorthMarq’s merger and acquisition activity, which has included more than ten transactions and expansion into multifamily investment sales. As part of the executive leadership team, he has worked to grow the firm to more than 550 employees, in nearly 40 offices, with a loan servicing portfolio exceeding $57 billion.

He previously served as Chief Financial Officer of NorthMarq and the other Pohlad-owned commercial real estate services companies from 2013-2018, and as Managing Director-Finance and Administration from 2012 – 2013.

Before he joined NorthMarq, Travis spent 13 years in public accounting, including approximately 12 years with McGladrey, where he served for six years as director. In that role, he was responsible for delivering a wide variety of assurance services to the financial services industry, including mortgage banking, community banking, investment companies, broker-dealers, and other specialty financial services companies including those involved in factoring, leasing, and asset based lending.

Travis received a Bachelor of Accountancy from the University of North Dakota, and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Paul joined NorthMarq in 1998 after working in the title insurance industry. He is a graduate of the University of Minnesota Law School and earned an undergraduate degree from the University of Minnesota - Morris. Paul is the senior vice president and managing director of NorthMarq Capital Services and the Defeasance Services program and is responsible for the Freddie Mac program nationally. NorthMarq has originated over $25 Billion of Freddie Mac loans since the mid 1990’s. Additionally, he has served on Freddie Mac Servicing and Targeted Affordable Housing Advisory Councils and was the recipient of the NorthMarq 2015 Presidential Award of Excellence and the 2008 Freddie Mac Conventional Mortgage Partnership award.

Bert Libke, director of servicing was promoted to lead the servicing group in 2013 and is responsible for NorthMarq's Loan Administration, Investor Reporting and Escrow departments. He joined Northmarq in 1993 as commercial mortgage analyst and then as manager of the asset management team. Starting in 2002 Bert served as director of servicing at Glaser Financial/MMA Financial until he re-joined NorthMarq in 2005 as manager of escrow administration. Bert has also worked as an auditor with a regional CPA firm. He graduated from the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management with a Bachelor of Science in Business.

Martha Nevanen leads corporate communications and marketing communications for NorthMarq and is a member of the company’s senior lealdership team. She and her team manage and execute media relations, social media, marketing, branding, graphic design and digital communications services to support the company’s strategic business objectives and its 37 offices.  

With nearly 20 years of marketing communications experience in all facets of commercial real estate, she has provided leadership and strategy in brand management, employee communications, and media relations through numerous rebranding, mergers/acquisitions, and changes in business strategy.

From 2008-2017, Martha managed marketing communications for multiple commercial real estate firms owned by the Pohlad Companies, including NorthMarq, United Properties, RJM Construction, and Cushman & Wakefield’s Minnesota, Nevada, Utah, and Washington operations. From 2002-2008, Martha served as director of marketing communications for United Properties.
 
Previous experience
Prior to joining United Properties in 2002, she worked in corporate communications and marketing communications at The St. Paul Companies (now Travelers). She also led implementation communications for vehicle emissions testing programs in Minnesota, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Colorado.  She also has experience as a writer/editor for a manufacturing company, a large paper mill, and as a reporter and photographer for a daily newspaper.

Community Involvement and Professional Recognition
Martha currently serves on the Board of Directors for Aeon, an affordable housing developer and investor in the Twin Cities. In 2013, Martha joined the Commercial Real Estate Diversity Collaborative, leading the communications efforts of the industry organization. For ten years, she volunteered on a special events committee for CornerHouse, a non-profit serving abused children.

For more than 20 years, Martha served in a variety of leadership roles with IABC (International Association of Business Communicators), including as the Pacific Plains Regional Board Chair and for three years on board of directors; and as President and five-year board member of IABC’s Minnesota Chapter. She has received four IABC’s Silver Quill and Bronze Quill awards in recognition of high-level communications strategy and execution.

In 2012, she was named to Midwest Real Estate News’ Top Women in Real Estate. Martha also received the IABC-Minnesota President’s Award in 2008, NorthMarq’s President’s Award in 2009, and The St. Paul Company’s Chairman’s Award in 2000.

Martha earned her bachelor of Journalism degree from the University of Missouri.

Daniel Ritch joined NorthMarq in 2019 as Senior Vice President/Chief Information Officer, where he is responsible for the creation of our digtial platforms, cybersecurity, infrastructure, software development, and business process alignment.

He has a proven 20-year track-record in aligning information technology and business processes to meet corporate strategic goals that meet/exceed the proposed return on investment and drive customer satisfaction.

Prior to joining NorthMarq, he spent nearly five years with Honeywell in its Building Solutions business, where he led the integration and development of the Connected Services platofrm. Prior to Honeywell, he worked for Dura, Magna Powertrain, Crane Co, IBM and Dell where he developed techology solutions to support business growth through progressive responsibility at each firm.

He is a graduate of Eastern Michigan University, with a Bachelor of Science, and Walsh College with a Master’s of Science, Management degree. He also holds a Project Management Professional certification and has achieved the Certified Information Executive (CIE) certification at the University of South Carolina, Upstate.

Outside of work, he serves on the board of the Twin Cities CIO Leadership Association, and volunteers as a head youth basketball coach.
